I LOVE this place. I went back in late October for 2 nights and highly recommend it. You do have to request a booking but it’s worth it. The rooms & showers are clean, and I met a lot of good people here. Front desk was super friendly too & they have wifi.
Zed and team run a comfortable, super chill spot. Facilities and rooms are clean and functional. Shower stalls are roomy, plenty of fridge space for food. Location is tucked away and super quiet. Good people through and through, would 100% stay again. Thanks for a good week 😎
I run hostels on the east coast each year, and have stayed at my fair share of them. This one is easily in my top 5 if not higher. All of the staff felt like old friends, the hostel is rustic yet impeccably clean, my room was beyond affordable and comfortable, they will hold packages or resupplies for thru hikers, and even all the other guests were pleasant and full of great conversations. If you're a traveler in Moab, stay here!
Dated but clean. A remodeled family home with cabins added. Friendly staff. Don't mind the laundry machines in the front they have working machines inside. Showers are a common home. No tokens required. Highly recommend.
While there is nothing negative about the hostel I give one star because of manager Zed. Briefly he put in writing he would send me $30 through Apple Pay re a dinner. He never did although I repeatedly asked. As I understand he was spoken …
I absolutely LOVED my stay at the Lazy Lizard. I'm walking across America, and it was a true blessing to come in here super overheated and meet Zed, who immediately caught my vibe and showed me to my cabin in a very no-stress kind of way.

The people I met over the course of the week I stayed here were all so interesting. Be prepared to potentially make some lifelong friends. I'll always stay here from now on when I come to Moab. Thank you guys at the Lazy Lizard for the best stay I could have asked for 100%.
The Lazy Lizard is am excellent hostel. Great space, very homey, and attracts friendly and respectful guests. Zed is a phenomenal host who entertained me with whimsical stories of Moab and his own unique personal anecdotes which have stuck to me to this day. Highly recommend.
Lazy Lizard is located just off of the main road in Moab near a private storage facility. It was surprisingly quiet and peaceful back there.
We made the mistake of visiting during the overlap of Memorial Day Weekend and the arts festival, so we were unable to get a spot anywhere else. We called the hostel, where Zed picked up the phone. Super friendly and was able to get us a room.
Everything was clean, albeit with character and age. Basic bath house and common spaces with everything you need. Showers are included and got nice and hot.
We did laundry there, which costs a couple bucks, but it was nice to not have to go to a laundromat.
I have to shout out Zed, as he was kind of the highlight of our experience there. Super friendly and funny, addresses everyone by name and makes sure you're taken care of.
